Maloney Receives Honor for Book
FREDERICK, Maryland (Feb. 23, 2011) -- Certified appraiser and veteran appraisal course writer, author and instructor David J. Maloney, Jr. of Appraisal Course Associates has received the International Society of Appraiser's (ISA) Publication Award for his book, “Appraising Personal Property: Principles & Methodology".
"Congratulations for receiving the Publication Award!" said ISA's Executive Director, Joseph Jackson, CAE.
Published by Appraisers Press, this now-616-page book is considered the definitive work on personal property appraising—a comprehensive course in the underlying core appraisal fundamentals required of today's professional personal property appraiser including appraisal principles, methodology, practices, theory, ethics, standards and report writing.
 The Award is presented for the most outstanding written work involving the appraisal profession as a whole. In selecting Maloney's book, consideration was given to the degree the work enhances the appraisal profession including its growth, credibility and image. "In my opinion, it is an outstanding resource," said ISA Awards Committee Chair, Martha Peck, ISA CAPP.
Maloney, managing partner at Appraisal Course Associates, received the honor in absentia during an awards ceremony held in conjunction with the ISA's recent Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.
"My goal was to share the knowledge I've gained in over 30-years of appraising with both experienced as well as novice appraisers in the hopes of improving their performance as professional personal property appraisers," said Maloney. "The International Society of Appraisers is a respected professional appraisal society and I am honored by their recognition," he continued.

David Maloney is a Certified personal property appraiser with over thirty years of experience. A veteran appraisal course writer and instructor, he is the recipient of numerous honors including the ISA's Lifetime Achievement Award. Maloney has served as President of the Association of Online Appraisers, as Vice President of the ISA, on the Board of Directors of the Claims Prevention and Procedure Council, and as Chairman of the Emerging Issues Committee of The Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council. In addition, for fourteen years he authored "Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory," hailed as a "Best Reference Book" by the Library Journal. Most recently Maloney wrote the award-winning "Appraising Personal Property: Principles & Methodology 5th Edition."
